Helping with a Fundraiser for the Education Channel in Tampa

On Wednesday, June 16, the Buskers will play a fundraiser at the Education Channel in Tampa. They're billing it as a celebration of Bloomsday. What is Bloomsday? James Joyce's masterpiece, Ulysses, takes place on one day: June 16. It's a 900 page book, considered by some to be the greatest novel of the 20th century, and its stream-of-conscious prose is interesting, highly influential, and nearly unreadable.

Nevertheless, the entire book takes place on one day. And the protagonist is a guy named Leopold Bloom. So, June 16 is Bloomsday. It's celebrated in Dublin every year, and by literary types the world over. (Some of the most enthusiastic celebrants may have actually read the book.)

Space is limited, so the Ed Channel asks that you register online at their website.
